Swift Water Rescue Technition Unit 1

In February I spent three fun days swimming about in the River Ure in Yorkshire helping out on a Swift water rescue Technician course.
Aimed at anyone who works or plays in or near a river environment this course gives an insight into the skills and knowledge needed to stay safe and perform rescues.

Working with Lee Burnside, Mobile Adventure UK in a cold, windy and at times snowy classroom it was a great opportunity to bring out the ropes and remember the complex yet essential safety skills.

A tributary to the Sea

A small beck in the North Yorshire area provide a fun start to the year.

The rain came as ordered and along with some good friends from York Canoe Club.

I got chance to dig out my creek boat, dust of the cobwebs and huck some small falls and run some sweet rapids.
