Pizza in Italy

Looking out over a beautiful Italian Valley

The last 3 weeks since our adventures at Area 47 have been a very exciting non stop tour of some of the best whitewater in Europe. After tiring ourselves out on the ramp we spent a few more days in Austria. The levels were high so we got come high water runs down some classic rivers and had the chance to surf a great river wave at Silz. We also had chance to head into the mountains with Arnd and the New Zealanders Matt and Lydia to try out some downhill biking.

Then it was time to head west in search of sun. First stop was Italy for an awesome pizza to celebrate Den passing his degree and some more river action. We were a little late in the season so levels were super low so we just had a quick surf on a funky little wave before heading out to France. France as always was beautiful. Super hot and full of Brits. We meet up with loads of friends and paddled some more classic runs.

The best part of the last few weeks though was the Mountain Biking. I have never really done proper downhill before so it was super exciting jumping in a cable car to the top of a beautiful mountain and then blasting down the specially designed tracks. Combing biking and boating was perfect and biking at the Crank Works Festival before throwing ourselves of the funnel waterfalls was the perfect end to our Europe trip.
